Kidlington - Away

After playing 2 very difficult 'A' League fixtures,(Kennington away lost 3-1 & Ardington Home lost 9-0),Oxford City Colts managed to kick start the season against last season's 'B' league champions Kidlington.

After 2 consecutive defeats much hard work was put into the team this week and to say it paid off is an understatement, the back four of George Kirby,Lewis Cook,Jay Ferguson and Louis Knott who captained the side were outstanding, the first goal came after a free-kick by Tony O'Donnell was put into the box and a blatant push on Brodie Rogers resulted in the referee awarding a penalty (much to the disgust of the Kidlington manager), regular penalty-taker Tony O'Donnell relinquished his responsibilities to enable debutant Jacob Bennett to score his first for the team,Jacob later went on to strike a 25 yard effort low into the bottom corner to give us a half-time lead of 2-0.

Donald Zui replaced the impressive Charles Faloye at half time and he duly contributed with with 2 very well taken goals, with 2 further goals from Jacob Bennett this gave us a final score of Oxford City Colts 6 - Kidlington Youth 2

Well done to all the boys for a superb team performance, the defence was well marshalled by Jay Ferguson,Tony O'Donnell and Brodie Rogers dominated the central midfield, whilst Liam Palfreeman and Jacob Bennett never gave the Kidlington defence time to settle with their constant pressure.

Many thanks to Rob Tutton for reffing the game and to all the coaches for their hard work this week.
