Crowmarsh - Home

Oxford City Colts took on top of the table Crowmarsh Youth at Court Farm,Oxford City played with a much depleted side with 2 player's away on holiday, plus 2 absent due to illness.

Crowmarsh started the game strongly,Oxford City were under constant pressure as they failed to take control and found it difficult to clear their lines.Oxford City Colts goalkeeper Andrew Sheppard made some outstanding saves to keep his team in the game and at half-time the scores were even when Oxford City Colts could well have been 3-0 down.

The second half was totally different,Colts got the ball down and started to play their football,Tony O'Donnell and Brodie Rogers started to influence the game by controlling the centre of the park and with the defence putting in an extremely disciplined performance they constantly caught the opposition strikers offside.10 minutes into the second period after some great set up play from Liam Palfreeman,Jacob Bennett scored to put Colts 1 up,with the game being played at a good pace we knew that one goal may not be enough to win against a good Crowmarsh side so with 3 minutes to go the quick feet of Liam Palfreeman foxed the Crowmarsh defence and he made the game safe by scoring Colts 2nd and his 7th goal of the season.
