Radley - Away

Oxford City Colts travelled to play Radley Youth this weekend and after a very exciting and entertaining 3-3 draw at home only 3 weeks ago another tough game was anticipated.
Playing on a very uneven pitch with long grass Oxford City Colts started well and took the lead after 9 minutes when Daniel Li who was a constant threat with his strength and pace managed to break clear and finish expertly with a powereful drive,Radley started to create chances by getting the ball behind our fullbacks and after a few close shaves around the Oxford City box Radley equalised when a deep right wing cross came back of the top of the bar and the rebound was put in from close range.5 minutes later Radley went 2-1 up with a good finish from the right,not pertered Colts continued to press and when Jay Ferguson bought the ball out from central defence he then played an exquisite through ball for Daniel Li to score his second to level the scores.With half-time approaching George Kirby was adjudged to have tripped a Radley player and a penalty was awarded which Oxford City Colts goalkeeper Michael Moroney did very well to save low to his right.

The 2nd half started with Colts forcing the game and looking in control and there pressure was rewarded when Daniel Li picked the ball up on the half-way line,whilst holding off 2 players he managed to advance and drill the ball into the roof of the net from 20 yards, with the clock ticking away Colts made numerous chances but they failed to convert them and this they paid for in the last minute when Radley snatched an equaliser.

All the boys once again gave excellent performances,thanks to Radley for 2 excellent games this season,must also credit the referee as he allowed the game to flow whilst keeping good control.I know at the final whistle the team were very disappointed with a draw but Radley is not an easy place to get a point let alone 3 so get your heads up as we shall continue to progress.
